In the cards

This is my place to record my Tarot card readings. Decks used consistantly: The Rahrig Tarot Gilded Tarot More decks will be added if needed or desired.

To say that my life is chaos would be an understatement. I have two lovely children that I raise, with help from my mother and grandmother. They, alone, keep me on my toes. Mischief does not even begin to describe my little merry-makers. With the bundles of chaos in my life, I have little time for anything else. I like to think that I have hobbies, and perhaps I have a few, such as reading, writing, creating jewelry or small fanciful beaded things that may or may not qualify as jewelry. I enjoy spending time with my friends, and a certain someone that has managed to claim a good portion of my time lately.

Question: Should I move in with a married couple as a roomate?
Deck: Gilded Tarot
Layout: Yes/No

Ace of Swords
Ace of Wands
Ten of Wands

My answer is yes, but beware of feeling or becoming a burden. Its possible that I need to be aware of taking on too much. The card beneath the ten of wands is the Moon. I'm not sure what to make of that card...mystery. Maybe I need to just learn what there is to learn.

Queen of Wands - Gilded Tarot

I was shuffling my deck of cards while on the phone today. This card was "left behind" - as in it didn't exactly leap from the deck, but rather seemed to be the last card and didn't move when I picked up the others.
I've always been told to pay attention to these sort of cards - a message is trying to be communicated. Something that I need to know/learn or just generally pay attention to. I also checked out my course. I've been stalling on the current lesson I'm on because it requires meditation time, which I haven't been able to devote to. On the other hand, I want to learn the cards and not have to look up the meanings in a book all the time. In this vein, when a card pops out I'm going to note my impressions of it.

So, now onto the card of the subject.

Queen of Wands -

She's tall and proud. Very regal in her stance. The wand is held close to her, the "head" to the right side of her body, pointing upward slightly. The colors are rich golds and purples. The dress is golds and her cape is purple. There's a pillar next to her with a globe in flames on the crown. This speaks of action, passion.
She's looking forward, the storm behind her. She impresses me as wise - one who knows through victory of the battle. She's not afraid to strike, if needed. She's someone who's willing to take action, and generally knows what actions to take. She's confident in who she is, where she's been and where she's going.

Thoughts

I've decided that I want to put anything to do with Tarot in here, not just my readings. I am, however, trying to seperate things into "catagories" as much as possible.
I've enrolled in an intuitive Tarot reading class, and I think I want to include some of the lessons here, and use this for my "official" journal. I know its public, but to me, that's alright. The feedback really helps, gives me views I hadn't thought of before and builds one more association with that card/layout/set up.
I'll probably, at some point, keep a handwritten journal with private observations or something. I find that I have more problems keeping up with a handwritten journal though - especially when it comes to readings. I'll figure something out.

Today, though there's something I wanted to write about - jot down thoughts and impressions. I'm thinking I'll do a new entry for that though, as seems appropriate.

New Layout: Birthday Wheel
Found: tarotforums.com

It is best done as a birthday reading, since it makes a very nice gift, and it is best done by starting with the festival coming the soonest after the querent's birthday. However, this spread could also be doe as a New Year's Eve reading, or even a Samhain reading. (Celtic New Year.)

There are 3 cards for each part/position of the spread, and there are 8 positions/parts.

Yule: 3 cards. Yule is the time of the rebirth of the Sun from the depths and darkness of Winter, and so these three cards indicate that which will be born into the querent's life during this year.

Imbolc: 3 cards. Imbolc is the time of the first stirring of the earth from beneath the Winter snows, and the rekindling of the flame of life. These three cards indicate that which will begin to grow in the querent's life in the coming year, but will not bear fruit fully for quite some time. That which will bud but not flower, that which is in the very first stages of creation, and that which will 'simmer under the surface' in the querent's life.

Ostara/Spring Equinox: 3 cards. This is the equinox, so it is a time of balance. These three cards indicate that which will bring the querent's life into some sort of balance during the coming year.

Beltane: 3 cards. Beltane is May day, a time for sexuality and passion. As such these three cards indicate the passions that will come to life in the querent's life this year. That which they will love most this year. That which will 'fertilise' their life and make them grow during the coming year.

Litha: 3 cards. Litha, or the Summer Solstice, is the time when the Sun is at its peak and is highest in the sky. As such, these three cards indicate the querent at their peak in the coming year, and the projects/events/ideas that will reach their peak for the querent.

Lughnassadh: 3 cards. Otherwise known as First Fruits, Lughnassadh is the beginning of the harvest, and so these three cards indicate that which will come to bear fruit this year in the querent's life, but will not quite be ready for a full harvest for a while. (Notice this is the opposite festival of Imbolc, where the flowering was delayed.- the opposite in some way to harvest being delayed.)

Mabon: 3 cards. Otherwise known as the Autumn Equinox, this is the opposite of Ostara. It is the middle of the harvest, aswell as another time of balance, and so it represents bounty and joy, and that which will be bounteous in the querent's life in the coming year and bring them joy and cause for celebration.

Samhain: 3 cards. This is the end of the harvest, where the herd is culled. As such, these three cards indicate what will die in the querent's life this year, what will come to an end, and what they will cull from their lives.

Blessings: 3 cards. A nice way to end the reading is to make three blessings from three cards. These card said in the form of 'May you...'. For instance, if the Fool was drawn for a blessing, one might say 'May you be an eternal learner.'

Question: Finding my soul mate (not necessarily lover)
Deck: Rahrig
Layout: Finding your soul mate

Sources: paranormality.com
learntarot.com (keywords)

1. Knight of Disks
2. 10 of Wands (oppression)
3. Ace of Wands
4. The Chariot

Knight of Disks:

UNWAVERING..........STUBBORN
CAUTIOUS..........UNADVENTUROUS
THOROUGH..........OBSESSIVE
REALISTIC..........PESSIMISTIC
HARDWORKING..........GRINDING

An impassive, indifferent and stoical person, who does not always appreciate the feelings of others. A very traditional person who is clever in monetary affairs, patient and hardworking.

My soul mate will be someone who's hardworking and patient.

10 of Wands:

OVEREXTENDING
BURDENS
STRUGGLE

Conduct that is honourable. Great good fortune that is now a burden due to it's demanding nature and demands on time. Diseconomies of scale in business, a successful pastime that can no longer be administered by its creator. Lack of social life due to the demands of a project, job or overtime.

Basically, he's (presuming he from the Knight card) going to come along when I feel overburdened with things - when things are too much to handle.

Ace of Wands:

CREATIVE FORCE
ENTHUSIASM
CONFIDENCE
COURAGE

An exciting new project or career. The essence of fire, creativity, inventiveness, ambition and enthusiasm. The aggressive pursuit of new ventures. Foundations for future success, intuition, conception, fertility, artistic innovation and manhood.

Chariot:

VICTORY
WILL
SELF-ASSERTION
HARD CONTROL

Triumph over adversity, overcoming life's obstacles, decisiveness and ambition in achieving one's goals, well deserved victory. A period of struggle ending in worldly success. Self control, effort, perseverance. Working within the boundaries of one's life to build up a successful existence.

My soul mate will be a hardworking, patient man. I'll meet him at a time when I feel overburdened with things, when things seem hopeless. I can "charm" him by being courageous, not letting the situation get the better of me. The advice: Keep moving forward.

Question: General insight to my spirit guide
Deck: Rahrig
Layout: Spirit Guide

1. Queen of Disks
2. Knight of Disks
3. Prince of Disks
4. Princess of Cups
5. 6 of Swords (Science)

I can see right away that this deals with the physical or financial aspects of things. Which, currently, makes perfect sense. I see also that there's a lot of court cards involved - all in the disks. Not sure what that would pertain to, really, but it seems significant.

Queen of Disks:
My impressions: Maturity, nourishment.
Keywords: (learntarot.com)
NURTURING
BIGHEARTED
DOWN-TO-EARTH
RESOURCEFUL
TRUSTWORTHY

(paranormality.com) A capable and practical businesswoman, who enjoys her material comforts. She has a responsible attitude to her wealth and uses it to advance the fortunes of those in her inner circle. She is neither particularly bright nor insightful, but has depth of feeling, with an appreciation of life's pleasures.

My spirit guide is someone who's good with finances. She's able to enjoy the wealth she's worked to achieve without squandering it away. She's down to earth and trustworthy.

King of Disks:
My impressions: Mature, strong, wise, financial investments

Keywords:
ENTERPRISING
ADEPT
RELIABLE
SUPPORTING
STEADY

A loyal and dependable leader who is neither particularly intelligent or imaginative. He is trustworthy, patient, cautious and uses his inborn wisdom to increase his wealth. He is slow to lose his temper, but once angered he stands rigid against his enemies.

I'm guessing from the traits displayed that my spirit guide is here to teach me how to manage my finances better. (ahem). Perhaps a lesson in creating (and sticking to) a budget is necessary.

Prince of Disks:
My impression: Young, strong, just beginning to mature, full of ideas

Keywords:

UNWAVERING..........STUBBORN
CAUTIOUS..........UNADVENTUROUS
THOROUGH..........OBSESSIVE
REALISTIC..........PESSIMISTIC
HARDWORKING..........GRINDING

An impassive, indifferent and stoical person, who does not always appreciate the feelings of others. A very traditional person who is clever in monetary affairs, patient and hardworking.

What she is here to teach me is to be more diligent in my planning for finances. I have to work hard and be patient.

Princess of Cups:
My impressions: Freedom, self-confidence

Keywords:
BE EMOTIONAL
BE INTUITIVE
BE INTIMATE
BE LOVING

A symbol of Imagination. May indicate a time for quiet reflection. Depending upon surrounding cards: a messenger bringing news of an engagement, marriage or birth. A reflective, poetic, quiet and artistic person, gentle and kind. A person with a wealth of knowledge, giving freely his advice. A person gifted with much foresight.

I need to be more self confident and stop second guessing myself, or the situation.

6 of Swords:
My impression: Finding a way through the maze, finding your own path to success

Keywords:
THE BLUES
RECOVERY
TRAVEL

Gradual change, movement or travel away form difficulty or imminent danger. The solution of current problems. Long journeys and passage from pain. Obstacles that are overcome

If I make it through this, I'll move away from the brink of financial disaster - or at least the feeling of being there. I'll have a bit more money, and a little bit of "room".

In summary:
My spirit guide is a woman who is strong, good with finances. She's down to earth and trustworthy. She's worked hard and can enjoy the wealth she's accumulated without overindulgence.
She's here to teach me to be more frugal in things, to work hard and be patient. What I want will come, I just have to wait for it and not overindulge. I need to be more aware of my finances, and how I spend my money. In order to move past this, I have to be more confident in my own abilities to learn, to budget, etc. I have to stop second guessing my situation, and myself. If I can do that, then I can move to a period of financial comfort.

Question: Should onyx wait for her current collar?
Deck: Rahrig
Layout: Yes/No - 3 piles of up to 13, stopping at aces

Justice
Queen of Swords
Ace of Disks

The answer is "no". The reading indicates that the other character or player is trying to find balance in things, which will ultimately lead to an unveiling of truths - and likely not some nice ones.
It seems that my lil onyx should be on her own for awhile. Which, even should I choose the other collar, it won't happen right away - which is good.
I hate to let this collar go, as I do enjoy the rp the player and I have. But, I haven't seen him in at least 6 months. I've sent mail through the game system, but haven't heard anything back. I guess it comes down to doing what you have to.

Question: Should onyx (rp character) be collared by someone?
Deck: Rahrig
Layout - Yes/No - 3 piles of up to 13 cards, aces are "yes"

Ace of Disks
10 of Swords (Ruin)
Knight of Wands
Card at bottom of deck (just felt like it) - Death

Knight of Wands:
A lover of action, this is the card of someone who has a well-liked, energetic, confident, but sometimes unpredictable nature. He has an engaging temperament and his actions sometimes a little swift do tend to make sense with hindsight.

The funny thing is, this describes the other character to a tee. So, the answer is "no"...the reason being that it would lead onyx to some sort of ruin because the other character is so volatile. It'll lead to a fundamental change in onyx, over time. Ironically, the card under the 10 of Swords is 2 of Swords, which indicates peace.
This doesn't mean the collar won't happen, just that the cards don't feel it -should-. The lovely thing about this is its not my life. Bwahahahaha. I think it'll be fun to have her collared to him, but there's another factor involved. She's currently collared to another. I'm not sure I want her fundamentally changed, but on the other hand it could be fun.
I'm going to do a couple other things before making my decision, but this helped clear a few things up as far as the dynamics go.
